Berij AI LLC ("Berij AI," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Beriz iOS application and the Papercast macOS application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our applications.

By using our apps, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Beriz (iOS App)

Information We Collect

When you use Beriz, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Email address and display name when you create an account via Firebase Authentication.
  • Watchlist Data: Stocks and companies you add to your watchlist, stored in Google Cloud Firestore.
  • Playback History: Information about which earnings calls you have listened to, for resume playback functionality.
  • AI Chat Messages: When you use the AI Chat feature (Premium), your messages and the relevant earnings call transcript are sent to the Google Gemini API to generate responses. Chat history is stored locally on your device and in your cloud account for continuity.

Third-Party Services

Beriz uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore (Google): For user authentication and cloud data storage. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini API: For AI-powered chat insights. Earnings call transcripts and your chat messages are sent to Google's servers for processing. Subject to Google AI Terms.
  • Audo AI: For audio enhancement (Premium). Audio files are sent to Audo AI's servers for noise reduction processing and returned to the app.
  • EarningsCall.biz: For earnings call data and transcripts. We access this data in a read-only manner. No personal information is shared with this service.

Face ID / Biometric Data

Beriz offers an optional Face ID app lock feature. Biometric authentication is handled entirely on-device using Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. We never receive, store, or transmit your biometric data. Face ID data remains on your device and is protected by the Secure Enclave.

Papercast (macOS App)

Information We Collect

Papercast is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

  • User Settings: Your preferences (voice selection, playback speed, export format) are stored locally on your device only.
  • PDF Content: Your PDF documents are processed locally on your device using MinerU. PDF content is never uploaded to our servers.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI API (Optional): If you choose to enrich footnotes and image descriptions, relevant content excerpts may be sent to the OpenAI API for processing. You provide your own API key, which is stored securely in your macOS Keychain. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

No Account Required

Papercast does not require an account. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or any identifiable data.

Data Security

We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information. Data transmitted to third-party services is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL. API keys (such as OpenAI keys in Papercast) are stored in the macOS Keychain, protected by the operating system's security mechanisms.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete Your Account: You can delete your Beriz account at any time from the app's profile settings. This will delete all associated data from our servers.
  • Data Export: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at support@berij.com.
  • Opt Out: You can opt out of optional data processing (such as AI features) by not using those features.

Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@berij.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
